Manchester City fan and former striker Trevor Sinclair has backed Liverpool to win the Premier League over his old side, claiming ‘the advantage had swung’., with reigning champions Man City set to face a tough defence of their title against chasers Liverpool. While Liverpool are dreaming of keeping their win streak alive
The gap between the two sides was as much as 14 points at the start of the year, but a nine-game winning streak fromLast time out City drew with Crystal Palace, three games after a surprise defeat against Tottenham, fully reigniting a title race that had looked all but over., including a crucial head-to-head at the Etihad on April 10, Sinclair is fearful the momentum has swung towards Merseyside.
Sinclair is not wrong there. City are facing a nightmare month stocked with fixtures, with a title decider and FA Cup semi-final against Liverpool, two Champions League clashes against Atletico Madrid and Premier League games against Burnley, Brighton, Watford and Leeds in the space of four weeks.
“And two, you look at the Liverpool team and they’ve got more individual stars that can take the game by the scruff of the neck and actually go and win the game and I don’t think you see that with City. “I think you’ve got the consistency there with Manchester City and you know they’re going to keep possession but I just feel I think it’s swung. “I hope I’m wrong, obviously I want City to do well, but I just feel like Liverpool have got the bit between their teeth.
