As we approach the end of 2023, it won't be long until the new year is upon us and with it, more annual leave days to take.
If you're planning to maximise your time off in 2024, in Northern Ireland this starts with St Patrick's Day, with Monday, March 18 allocated as the substitute bank holiday. If you book annual leave for Friday, March 15, you can get four days off for the price of one. For the Spring Bank Holiday on May 27, book off from May 28 to May 31. Again, combining these two periods will see you get 16 days off in May while using eight annual leave days.
Looking ahead to next winter, you can get ten days off in a row for booking seven. Taking account for the Christmas Day, Boxing Day, and New Year's Day bank holidays, booking time off from December 23 to December 27, then December 30 and 31 will ensure you get this extended break.
