Thug battered his ex - he was found on 'bed full of blood' with his victim

Wayne Baines, 39, left HMP Lancaster Farms in Lancaster on December 20, 2022, but within hours was on the doorstep of his former partner, who he was banned from contacting.

As the man tried to pull Baines off, Baines rained blows onto her face and head 'as if she was a punchbag'. He also bit the man on his arm as he tried to the woman, LancsLive reports.Ms Worsley said officers were concerned by how worried the man was when they arrived, as they knew him and it was not his usual demeanour. Inside the house they found Baines and the woman lying on a bed together with their arms around each other, and blood all over the bed.

The woman was taken to hospital for treatment but declined to make a victim impact statement. Ms Worsley said Baines was under a restraining order to prevent him from seeing the woman due to previous violence in their relationship.Baines' defence clarified the woman had previously applied to the court to have the order removed, but the application had been declined.
