Three Liverpool players are working to follow in the footsteps of departed manager Jurgen Klopp by taking on their coaching badges with help from the PFA.
The next step for the trio will be to complete their UEFA A Licence. This allows the holder to manage youth teams up to the age of 18, reserve teams or 'B' teams for top-flight clubs and men's professional clubs up to the second tier.READ MORE: Klopp's new project confirmed Klopp will undoubtedly be proud to see three of his players planning to stay in football in a coaching capacity once they retire. The player perhaps closest to making the first step into coaching is Matip after his contract was not extended at the end of the season.
He explained last month: "You will not find a more likeable person than Joel Matip, he’s funny in his own way – ridiculously funny, to be honest – and a wonderful man, with a wonderful family. So he has to make a decision if he wants to play on or not, we will see that or read it, whatever.
