The teenagers,who cannot be named for legal reasons, appeared at the Youth Court at Manchester Magistrates' Court this afternoon .
The boys have all been charged with the attempted murder of a 16-year-old boy who was allegedly stabbed in Gorton and possession of an offensive weapon, described in court as a machete. A 16-year-old boy was found with 'serious stab wounds to his hand outside an address', Greater Manchester Police said. The charges were brought after an investigation by City of Manchester North detectives.
During the brief hearing today the bench ruled that the boys’ case will be heard at Manchester Crown Court in four weeks time on Friday, April 5. The youths have been released on conditional bail until their next court appearance. The boys spoke only to confirm their names, ages and to confirm they understood their bail conditions.
