Coronavirus: Thousands of homeless 'back on streets by July'

councils an extra £3.2bn in funding to help them deal with the pandemic, although that money is not specifically for the emergency rough sleeping scheme.

But the charity said the government should take further action to provide everyone with permanent housing, warning that if not people will be forced to return to the streets.Amanda, who was given accommodation in Manchester, said she was"dizzy with all the help" Mr Downie said:"We will take one of two paths here: one is that 15,000 people are permanently helped out of homelessness through the amazing Everyone In scheme, or we will see a massive increase in rough sleeping in this country just at the point when we thought it would be possible to avoid that.

Crisis has estimated it would cost £282m to provide the people in emergency accommodation with permanent housing and support for the next 12 months. How the UK's homeless are coping during the coronavirus pandemic

BorisJohnson promises all 3 million Hong Kong residents with UK passports will be welcomed here, good luck with trying to get any social housing in the next 20 years then?

I’ve seen things like shipping containers stacked up and then converted into really respectable accommodation. There is absolutely no reason why anybody should be homeless in this country.

Thank god. The new normal! As long as they are 2 metres apart they will be just fine. And have their change cup on a stick. ARREST THESE PEOPLE... NOT 2 METRES APART!

Or anywhere with airconditioning

Given that lockdown appears to be over after today's BLM riot in central London, why would Coronavirus be a risk?

ah!! the fresh air!! Nothing quite like it... Sleep under the stars... look up and see the heavens...

“We need a protest against the government” I heard someone say today. Doesn’t seem like a bad idea after everything that’s happened.

May as well because the mass demonstrations over an American killing has most probably put British advancement on this virus back to the beginning... I would arrest as many people as possible and fine each one £1,000 and those throwing missiles at Downing St One year prison.

Because they don't build 🏠 houses & have sold of Labour run councils sold off housing stock Tory's sold off all the housing stock & don't build enough new homes, put pressure on people with mental health over benefits, they don't want to live in a house SkyNews Keir_Starmer

Check out appendix B, section 2 'use media to increase sense of personal threat'.

The BBC claim to be anti racist yet made shows like this.....

please kindly follow I promise to follow back

Just chuck them out to get obliterated in the riots (sorry, peaceful protests) and the homeless problem is sorted? Not good enough is it? Extra funding of these gatherings/riots COULD have spent helping the homeless.

Remember when Johnson caught the virus? 'He's a changed man'. Seems a long time ago, but so many thought we were about to enter a new dawn. It didn't last long. Leopards, spots and all that. It's criminal behaviour and shows their contempt for anyone who isn't one of them.

Do the BBC live on a different planet? We see that Downing Street is being attacked by rioters but the BBC isn't interested.

UK has worse stats than Spain now(per Million) France’s testing weakness shows challenges of lifting lockdowns. Macron wanted to loosen curbs in mid-May but scientists first want capacity trebled....doesn't look like it happened.
