While there are a number of excellent SPF brands available – not least on Space NK – the brand, which was founded in Australia by Ava Matthews and Bec Jefferd – has become a stand-out thanks to a number of factors, including how the formulas feel on the skin. “Its formulations are brilliant,” Charlotte Giddeon-Powell, suncare buyer at Space NK, tells. “It turns the notion that SPF is thick and greasy on its head, through its edit of facial sunscreens, each tailored towards a different skin type.
Gideon-Powell also name checks the brand’s drive to educate consumers on sunscreen, using “straight-talking, expert advice” to dispel the myths that it is just to be used on hot holidays or in sunnier climes. And she’s right; it takes a conversational and relatable approach with its consumers, which helps build a trusting bond, and thus increases sales.
But it goes deeper than that. It’s also just so well thought out: from the packaging to the formulas themselves, the brand offers modern, forward-thinking skincare at good prices: “We wanted to design a wardrobe of facial sunscreen that looked good, felt nice to wear, and didn’t bore us to tears,” says Matthews. While all of the products are rather excellent, there is one that the whole world is raving about right now.
