With rising household bills hitting bank balances hard, this handy radiator hack will save you money on bills this winter ❄️

With rising household bills hitting bank bank balances hard this winter, we want to make sure every penny of energy counts.

But as the colder months creep up on us, putting the heating on will be inevitable, and costly, for many. And, according to experts, you could save around £50 a month from your bills by making just one simple change. Matthew Jenkins, a heating expert at MyJobQuote, says that using a hairdryer to clean dust and dirt from your radiator could reduce your energy bill by up to £625 a year.

This is because radiators often have convector fans inside of them and if these become dusty, less heat will be transferred between them – which could result in blockages. In fact, recent research from Enertek International found that a dirty heating system could increase your energy bills by up to 25%.

Sign the petition for elderly and disabled to have a fixed unmetered tariff this winter! Great story to cover, but 'stricken' is terrible language. Please don't describe disabled people like that. Thank you. I thought this was a generous act until I realised that Kate Winslet is worth over £50 million. Could have rounded it up don’t you think?
