The bride and Ives picked the second-hand blouses and dresses that would eventually form her dress, with the designer dreaming up the exact style she had in mind. “He sent literally one or two sketches, and it was exactly what I had pictured,” Amy says.
As for the wedding venue, the pair quickly settled on Hackney Town Hall – which was around the corner from where they used to live – for the ceremony, andin Farringdon for the party. “We were both really aligned that it should be a super relaxed day and just really, really fun,” the bride explains. On the morning of the wedding, Amy, Elliot, Conner and make-up artist and friend Hannah got ready together at The Standard London, before meeting their families at a pub next to the town hall. “That really settled us and set the tone for the day,” Amy says.
Following a lively – and emotional – ceremony, the party headed over to St John, where they enjoyed cocktails and a dinner featuring crab, halibut and roast lamb, all served family style, along with a traditional Polish vodka toast . Everyone then moved on to the dance floor, for which Amy and Elliot had sourced a huge disco ball – “probably the best thing we booked” – to party into the small hours.
The London wedding allowed the bride and groom, who moved to New York in 2022, to catch up with family and friends that they hadn’t seen in a while, making the day even more special. “It was a big reunion,” Elliot says.Getting ready with Conner Ives, our dear friend and designer of the dress, at The Standard London.Arriving together at Hackney Town Hall.
