The family of a girl who died in a crash that claimed the lives of two other teenagers has paid tribute to her strength and kindness.
Sophie Bates, 17, from Stafford, was a back seat passenger of the Ford Ka when the crash happened on Cannock Road in Penkridge, Staffordshire, on Saturday.She would be sorely missed and loved eternally, her family said. In a tribute, they stated: “Our princess Sophie, the best big sister, granddaughter, niece, cousin and friend to many, was so strong on the outside but truly so kind-hearted and thoughtful inside.
“Full of fun and beyond witty, we were so proud of the young adult Sophie was becoming, with the life plans she was putting in place: Excelling in college and her work placement, full of drive and ambition to have her own business.Two teenage boys, Dafydd Hûw Craven-Jones, 18, and Morgan Jones, 17, both from Wrexham, also died in the crash.Another 17-year-old girl taken to hospital after suffering injuries in the crash has since been discharged.
Police said officers were still keen to speak to people who saw the crash or those with any information about the events.
