Tory backbenchers met last night to discuss a rule change that would allow another vote of no confidence in their leader. Currently, the rules state that a no-confidence motion cannot be brought forward within 12 months of a leader winning one. This would mean Mrs May is safe until December this year, having successfully fought off a coup in December 2018.However, the talks proved inconclusive and are believed to be continuing today.
