The vicious real-life gangster, who killed 25 people, behind Martin Scorsese's chilling mega-budget movie 'The Irishman'

MARTIN Scorsese's new gangster epic may be the talk of Hollywood, but it's based on one of the bloodiest real-life mobsters around.

According to Sheeran, who died of cancer in 2003 at the age of 83, it was during the war that he developed a callousness that meant he would go on to a career in being a murderer for hire. According to reports, Hoffa used Sheeran as "muscle" to commit crimes like assacination or recalcitrant union members and members of rival unions.

Gallo was shot dead in front of his family in a restaurant in Little Italy, New York, where he was celebrating his 43rd birthday.
