Care homes accused of being too quick to call police on childrenVulnerable children are being criminalised over minor incidents despite guidelines If it’s a for profit home it’s certain that it will be understaffed by under qualified, poorly paid people who are less than prepared to deal with complex problems. Calling the police is a call for help in more ways than one. This report mentions registered and unregistered care homes. Surely all care homes looking after children have to be registered? Schools are also guilty of this behaviour. Kids’ bad behaviour should not be a matter for the police or the courts.
