The Rutnam saga has been settled, but there needs to be a lot of work to repair government actions of the past year, says Jill Rutter, a senior research fellow at UK in a Changing Europe

The year-long Philip Rutnam saga, which started with his dramatic accusations about the home secretary’s bullying and briefing, fizzled out last week with the news that the two sides had agreed a settlement. A big cash sum, but no formal admission of liability from the Home Office. No comment from Priti Patel’s former permanent secretary.

Not sure this conservatives government could repair very much it drags it self from one crisis to another . Bullying being only one part of the problem . Everthing it puts it hand to comes with dramas . Time to step down Boris .

If she'd just pinch someone's bottom she'd be gone. Meanwhile she can abuse and bully away damaging mental health on a whim. As can most ministers.
