Kate's statement earrings are by a London-based brand.

continued her power dressing streak on Monday afternoon, as she officially unveiled her Shaping Us campaign in London. Kate Middleton’s sharply cut and tailored red suit was eye-catching, with its prominent shoulders, lowered lapels, and accentuated waist. However, her bold, chunky earrings stole the show.

It wasn’t merely because they were a statement style. As is often the case with Kate, the choice was loaded with meaningful details. The Princess first wore the earrings back in June of last year for the unveiling of the National Windrush Monument at London’s Waterloo Station. The earrings are made by, a handcrafted jewellery brand by London-based architect Malaika. This particular pair is described by the brand as paying homage to the “main stage auditorium ceiling of the Royal Opera House”.

Of course rewearing an accessory may not sound like a big deal for the average person. But for Britain’s royal family, who often have their wardrobes meticulously approved by a team and then scrutinised by the press, the move represents a more sustainable and eco-conscious approach to public appearances. That said, the Princess of Wales has long worn her clothes again, whether a simple Zimmermann dress or an Alexander McQueen suit.

It was an important moment for Kate, who has immersed herself in the field of Early Years development in recent years, and has now said she intends to make her campaign to improve society’s understanding of the importance of a child’s crucial early years her “life’s work”.
