The most vulnerable children on earth are being kidnapped British soil – why don’t we care? ✒️ IanDunt for ipaperviews

None of it made any difference. Last October, official figures showed 220 unaccompanied asylum-seeking children were missing from hotels funded by the Home Office. Seventeen of them disappeared within a day of arriving at the accommodation.

Part of the reason the kidnappings are so hard to address is because the asylum hotel system exists in a legislative twilight zone outside of the normal rules of child protection. Local authorities are supposed to be responsible for keeping kids safe, under long-standing legal norms. But that system fell into chaos when the Home Office took ownership by placing the children in hotels under its management.

And the reason for that, as ever, is that we don’t really care. We don’t care enough to listen to warnings. We don’t care enough to put proper safeguarding arrangements in place, or to even establish a clear legal framework. And when the inevitable happens, and the most vulnerable children on earth are kidnapped on British soil, we don’t even care enough to treat it like headline news. It’s just another news-in-brief, lucky to make it into the final items of a broadcast.

IanDunt ipaperviews Pointless wars for profit for the very few underdeveloped. Mass burden on the system and others to cope with their atrocities, where wars could’ve been avoided if only the very few would’ve received the right attention for their upbringing.

IanDunt ipaperviews Noted that you have not made any reference to the actual ages of said children, do you know as a fact the ages? My question relates to the recent report of a '14' child convicted of murder, who was really twenty-something. Did you report that too?

IanDunt ipaperviews WE DO CARE.

IanDunt ipaperviews My heart broke to read the horror of the story. However Luton Borough Council is spending over £1 million on the private education of a foreign child at one of the most expensive schools in England. Where is there any justice in this world? We all need to share and care equally.

IanDunt ipaperviews The hypocrisy of these Tories. They all feigned sorrow at the image of a Syrian refugee toddler washed up drowned on the beach, but are absolutely fine with (and practically facilitating) other refugee children being sold into prostitution, slavery and cannabis farms- in the UK!

IanDunt ipaperviews It's insane how, out of all the things going on right now, this isn't the biggest scandal.

IanDunt ipaperviews We do care. It's the extreme rightists in the UK gov and their supporters who don't.

IanDunt ipaperviews I care

IanDunt ipaperviews Because they’re foreign. Because of the right wing scum Press. And the UK is a failed state.

IanDunt ipaperviews Hundreds of children go missing from care homes every year without any notice being taken. Some of whom are never heard of again and probably have been murdered. What chance did these poor kids have?

IanDunt ipaperviews I do! It’s Gullis and the Government who don’t!

This is one I genuinely don’t understand. Every knows how Amazon functions, which is why they’re so big and can do what they do. Yet people will still apply for jobs there and then complain when the job is exactly like everyone has said it is? Just don’t work there? They don't want to work for their pay. Te Amo Friend.
