A developer wants to build 1,200 homes on the site of the now-derelict Swinton Park Golf Club in Salford, the Manchester Evening News can reveal.
The group said Wain Estates, which bought the golf course for £3m, have been in touch with Mr Dennett concerning their proposals. "We need a collective approach, as a community, to oppose any development, so please make every effort to be in attendance," said the campaign group. Wain Estates, in the document, said the site was 'capable of delivering around 1,200 new homes' - a mix of 'family homes, later living and affordable housing'.
The council and residents celebrated victory in March last year when the courts dismissed an appeal by Wain Estates to overturn the council's decision to list the land as an asset of community value - and a council-commissioned report has previously said the club would be viable.
