Tyson Fury to retire? Profile of world heavyweight champion

Few could have predicted Fury would become world heavyweight champion when he was born three months prematurely in 1988, weighing in at just 1lb, with doctors describing his chance of survival as slim.

During that period he apologised after being criticised for comments he had made about women and homosexuality. Wilder was celebrating victory and the fight appeared over only for Fury to beat the count and walk to referee Jack Reiss, who ordered the pair to box on. The unbeaten Fury produced the most destructive performance of his career to end Wilder's five-year reign as WBC heavyweight world champion with a seventh-round knockout.Fury floored his opponent in the third and fifth rounds, before sealing victory in a dominant display.

A unification bout against fellow Briton Anthony Joshua had been touted, but it never materialised as the latter lost his titles to Ukraine's Oleksandr Usyk.Fury asked to be removed from the shortlist of six candidates for the BBC's annual Sports Personality of the Year award in 2020.

Retirement? Yeah right, til the money beckons 🙄

Bit premature but who can blame him for taking early retirement in such a dangerous sport. They will tempt him back into the ring when he gets bored again with some astronomical amount of money no doubt.

He hates the BBC. Legend.

It's not whether he needs the money, he openly says he is now rich. I'd say it all boils down to whether his desire to fight is still greater than his desire to spend more valuable time with his family, which he mentions regularly. That unification option must be tempting though.

The Corrupt Sharif

He isn’t retiring! No chance.

Good

Lol retire to avoid usyk. Big clown bozo. He's scared. Very scared

At his peak & one fight before the biggest purse in history (ultimate unification bout) Wobble ya head.
