We’ve had endless reviews of policy. Now those who live each day in real hardship should be put at the heart of reform

last year, which both Rashford and I worked with him on. Dimbleby consistently consults those at the centre of the crisis, speaking to food bank volunteers and their clients, doctors, social workers, people living in poverty; he interviewed thousands of people for the national food strategy and produced one of the most comprehensive and realistic documents on the subject. Frank Field did similarly with the Feeding Britain report in 2013, to which I gave evidence in parliament.

Feeding the family comes first. It's not necessary for Sky etc or other items you don't need. School meals have sadly always been there, so experts must stipulate what's in the parcel and at what cost. It's us who pay in the long run, taxes etc.

The question is: Just send food or send food after a nutritionist analyze children's needs?

The government needs to work with schools and catering companies to distribute proper food parcels. The government needs to implement a strategy to ensure that families can afford to feed themselves. The end game should be the eradication of food poverty.

So many awful people here who don't give a damn that kids are going hungry.

People who put their fate in the hands of the gov't will always be disappointed. We all know the gov't is useless - so why do it?

We should put Jacob Rees Mogg in charge of addressing this.

Why is nobody mentioning that the food parcels been handed out are only to cover one lunch time meal a day, and not feed a child for an entire day.

Local council should be responsible

Bbc rather the kids eat nothing 🤐 Thanks Rashford. I’ve always struggled with this meal. Several cafes around here in London have been serving fish finger sandwiches for years anything from £4.99 to £7.99 depending on the place. The Guardian view on top-down politics in a pandemic: a fatal error | EditorialEditorial: As a new study of the government’s handling of Covid makes clear, good policymaking depends on listening to voices beyond Whitehall I wonder why Boris Johnson awarded a half-billion pound roads contract to a company with a history of paying off public officials and cutting cost by using sub-standard materials? FailedStateBritain He is an incompetent. Anyone paying attention would know that but they voted for him anyway. Brexit dominated everything and then pandemic came along. Massive failure on his part. Grift and graft seems universal.... even among the daft.
