'We are in the middle of a national crisis, and it’s a crisis about death. This should be the Church’s big moment,' writes timothy_stanley

Justin Welby, the Archbishop of Canterbury, has announced that next year he will take a sabbatical. In the spirit of fair play, I have to admit that this is common among clerics and his predecessors did it, too – but my time is short, as is the Church’s, so I must be blunt. This does not look good.

Covid: Church of England services hit by pandemicMore than half of the Church of England's 14,000 parishes will not open for Sunday services later. We know god loves you but everyone else thinks your a wanker ! Genuinely baffles me how any priest could in good conscience open up his church to a (likely relatively old) congregation. Maybe it’s a failure of communication by the govt on the dangers of indoor transmission.
