Glasgow's bar and restaurant scene is already one of the UK's best and it's getting better, with some cracking new food and drink spots opening recently.

Though the past few years have been tough for the bar and restaurant industry, this year has been one filled with positivity as exciting new openings appear all across Glasgow – meaning there are plenty of fun places to go and see.

The team behind Pho, which is known for its Vietnamese Street food and is named for the country's national dish, opened on Renfield Street recently. 'A bar like no other’, ‘Somewhere by Nico’, which is a project chef Nico Simeone says is almost two years in the making, opened at 358 Byres Road. Owner John Traynor confirmed that they have a full breakfast and lunch menu available, serve great brunch bowls, breakfast bagels and even Scottish ice cream for the hotter days.Maison By Glaschu, Princes Square The firm behind Glaschu, which already owns restaurants and bars including Glaschu on Royal Exchange Square, Blue Dog and Gost in the city centre, are opening Maison By Glaschu this month.

MEOW Cat Cafe, Woodlands Road Open at 12 Woodlands Road, close to Charing Cross, the new cat cafe gives people the chance to enjoy a cake and a coffee while interacting with cats. And Glasgow's foodies looking for a taste of the winners of Scotland’s Best Kebab House for 2024, 2023 and 2022 can also find their epic wraps at a second location on Paisley Road, just by Springfield Quay.

Sarang Korean Cafe, Hope Street This exciting new Korean spot has taken over the former NYC Deli site on Hope Street.Zhima, St Vincent Place Recently opened at the former Prezzo on St Vincent Place, the contemporary Chinese restaurant promises ‘taste on every level’, with Cantonese, Hunan, and Sichuan influences.

Set to open soon... The Giffnock Cafe, the latest venue from the team behind Ryan's and the Old Toll Bar, is opening this month, promising an exciting new brunch and small plates destination spot locals will love.
