Newly moved to Morecambe with her daughter Maddie and son Conor, Jenn has to try and do her new job while facing conflict at home. Conor struggles with settling in to their new blended family alongside Jenn's boyfriend Chris and his unwelcoming teenage daughter Erin. By the penultimate episode, it looked like the family tensions could permanently damage Jenn and Chris's relationship.
While you'd expect Chris's stroppy madam of a daughter to start celebrating, Erin actually looks a tiny bit guilty – it seems it has finally dawned on her that the moods and mean treatment of Conor could be one of the reasons the relationship between her dad and Jenn is so strained. Jenn returns home to find Erin, who has presumably finished her pouting for the day, and asks for her help. She shows Erin a list of the people who attended Saif's funeral and asks if there is anyone Ritchie could be protecting – maybe someone who Erin would have expected to see at the funeral but wasn't there.at the funeral – Kyle, the brother of Saif's girlfriend Molly. Erin reveals that Kyle was never Saif's friend, even though he had told the police that he was.
It seems that Kyle had always been hanging around Saif and Ritchie, even though they didn't like him. Ritchie had had enough of Saif being treated better at the gym than everyone else and acting arrogantly, so he asked his girlfriend Shirin to lure Saif to the back entrance of the gym at night so he could teach his former friend a lesson.
