The alarming spread of postal voting threatens to undermine our democracy | Norman Tebbit

Oh Lord! Will it never come to an end, this absurd charade of an election process to decide who should succeed Mrs May as Conservative leader and therefore Prime Minister? Already we have endured what feels like an eternity of candidates bad-mouthing each other, in Westminster and on radio and TV stations, and now it goes on and on as they travel around the country doing the same.

Isn’t the Tory Party running a postal vote for the new leader at the mo? Do the members know who is funding their campaigns? Apparently, it’s these people 👇🏼 Which means..... 🤷🏻‍♂️

Is that because Labour won the by-election and its Tory newspaper?

2112Frankie It needs banning. Except for the elderly, disabled and overseas. If you have two working legs and desperate to vote, you’ll WALK to the station.

As a fulltime carer with a bedridden husband postal voting is a God send, how are housebound people supposed to use their vote?

Maybe just ban voting ? 🤷🏻‍♂️

A postal vote is an excellent way to ensure democracy. So many people cannot get to Polling Stations, either due to incapacity/disability or fear of harassment or difficulty due to work/home pressures. Essential too for those of us living & working abroad
