Roxy the Patterdale terrier was saved by both firefighters and mountain rescue in a three-hour operation Patterdale terrier Roxy was distracted by the animal while on a walk in Pickering, North Yorkshire, on Saturday.
Dog treats were used to encourage the terrier into the rescuer’s arms, who was able to lift her back to safety. The Mountain Rescue crew said: ‘Working with the Fire and Rescue service we quickly set up a dual rope system to lower John, one of our team members, with dog treats down to Roxy.North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue said it was a ‘happy story’ that both dog and owner were found safe ‘The dog appeared uninjured and was coaxed into a rope bag before they were hauled back to the top of the crag, allowing Roxy to be reunited with her relieved owners.
