ByA 14-year-old boy has died after an incident in the River Tyne near Ovingham Bridge, Northumberland on Saturday afternoon.
Another 13-year-old was rescued from the water by local emergency services and is thought to be in critical condition at a local hospital according to Northumbria Police She added: “A number of agencies were involved in the incident and their support was hugely appreciated. It is with great sadness that we could not provide a more positive update.”The Great North Air Ambulance Service said its doctor-led team arrived on the scene at 4.24pm and worked with the North East Ambulance Service to treat one of the boys before accompanying them to the hospital.
