Teenage Lincoln actor Harry Marcus loving life with the stars

A teenage Lincoln actor who has been in films and television shows alongside Andrew Garfield, Aidan Turner, and Emma Watson has already enjoyed a plethora of ‘pinch me moments’ in his early career.

When Harry was around seven or eight, he took part in an open casting event for a UK tour of Priscilla Queen of the Desert. He got the part and ended up starring alongside Jason Donovan in the shows in Hull and Manchester. He said: “I had this passion for acting, so for me it was almost like a bit of a holiday when I was working because I enjoyed it so much.

“I found out from my dad who sat me down in the car and told me,” he added. “I’ll never forget that feeling, everything dropped, and I didn’t stop crying for a couple of days, it was really brutal. Harry, who is now represented by the BWH Agency, said: “It was one of the maddest experiences of my life and my first time ever being on a Disney set.“I met Emma Watson and she was lovely. I was just the biggest fan of the Harry Potter series growing up, the books and films, so that was an absolute pinch me moment."

"We went for a walk just before we started shooting for about half an hour and he gave me advice, and told me about his experiences. It’s a day I’ll never ever forget and he’s honestly just one of the loveliest guys in the world. “He helped me change that and craft it to a TV and film acting style. You really appreciate what this actor has done with his career.

He said: “Aidan is a really cool guy and I learnt so much from him. I especially want to mention Eleanor Tomlinson who played Demelza as she’s still one of my dear friends today. She’s amazing and taught me a lot of what I know and really helped me through the Poldark experience.”Harry added: “When you are working with big stars, there’s a sort of standard you need to meet. I just take what I can from other actors, big or small, and think it’s really useful.

He originally auditioned for another character in the show in June last year, but was told he didn’t feel right for the role, but they loved him and wanted him to play another part.
