Teenage dog walker assaulted in 'nasty' attempted robbery

A 14-year-old boy was left with cuts and swelling after being punched in the face while walking his dog. The victim was walking along Shelford Road, Radcliffe-on-Trent, when he was stopped by a group of youths.

One person in the group asked the 14-year-old to give him his dog, phone, headphones, and trainers. After refusing to comply, the teenager was punched numerous times in an attempt to get him to let go of his dog. Inquiries are ongoing to trace those responsible for the attempted robbery which happened shortly after 10pm on Friday, April 19. The group ran off after they were challenged by members of the public, one of whom gave the boy a lift home.Investigating officers have now issued CCTV images of two youths they want to identify and speak to in connection with the incident.

"We are continuing to investigate this nasty incident and as part of our ongoing inquiries we have now released CCTV images of two people we believe may have information that could assist us with our investigation. We’d ask anyone who recognises them to contact us immediately by calling 101, quoting incident number 784 of 19 April 2024.
