A teenager was surrounded by a group of seven men and asked who he was 'grafting for' before being frogmarched round Preston city centre in the early hours of the morning.
The group began attacking the door of the house, and the youngster used the opportunity to run away back to his mother's house. They were originally charged with kidnap, robbery and ABH but those charges were dropped when the victim did not attend court to give evidence in a trial. Charges against the other three men were left to lie on the file.
Sentencing, Judge Philip Parry said: "I have no doubt that somehow and in some way, drugs lay behind what was going on on this occasion." He said each of the four defendants would receive credit for pleading guilty when others who had been charged "walked away Scot free".
