"It continued for months on end but in February 2019, I passed an alarmingly large mass which I took a picture of to show the doctor. It was almost as if I gave birth to it, it was so big"By the time I was officially diagnosed in April, I had prepared myself for the worst. Megan added: "I was weirdly relieved when I got diagnosed because I had been wanting to get better for so long - when I finally got a diagnosis it was like I didn’t have to worry about not being listened to anymore.
One type of embryonal rhabdomyosarcoma is called sarcoma botryoides. This type of tumour looks like a tiny mass of grapes sticking out from the nose, eye or vagina. Although the appearance of these tumours, especially in young children, can be very frightening and distressing, they usually respond very well to treatment
"However, fortunately, he decided to due an internal examination anyway during which his voice changed and I need immediately that something was wrong."The doctor was extremely surprised Megan had gone so long without some kind of internal examination."The mass was later confirmed to be a tumour a and the clots Megan was passing was actually parts of the tumour breaking away.
