Tartan Army fans are facing an almighty ticket scramble if Scotland were to make history and qualify for the next round for the first time ever.
The SFA would receive just 6,000 tickets for their allocation. Scotland know a win against the Hungarians in Stuttgart on Sunday would almost certainly be enough to clinch qualification from a group stages for the first time ever. They won't know the venue until the rest of the group stage games are finished.
They were handed an official allocation of 10,000 for all three group games which were quickly snapped up with tens of thousands more Scotland fans in Germany without a brief. But UEFA bizarrely announced when they were drawing up their allocations for the tournament that each nation would receive just 6,000 tickets for the Round of 16 clash...regardless of what the venue is.
With Scotland Supporters Club having a capped membership of 38,000, it would mean only those members having 13 points in their loyalty scheme - which awards fans two points for an away game and one point for a home game - would qualify for a guaranteed brief, with 5,612 on that current tally. And it would lead to a huge rush for Scotland fans to get their hands on tickets for what would undoubtedly be the biggest game in their history.
