Will the real Andy Warhol please stand up?

This was the White Factory, the Union Square one, because I was too young for the Silver Factory. I was hanging with Andy's people and the superstars, and I started photographing them and making films and everything. I wasn't a Factory boy. I was kind of doing my own thing with my films, and I'm not saying I'm on the same vibe as Andy, but we were on the same track, in terms of working with these superstars and making these underground films.

worked at the Factory. They offered me a job way back in 1971. But I didn't really want to do that, because I really wanted to do my own work. I just felt that – whether it was rightly or wrongly, or whether it was the right decision or wrong decision, that I wanted to be on my own track. He respected my work. We'd go out to cabaret shows and dinner and, and stuff like that and hang around...I don't know if he told a lot of people that [laughing], but he did tell me this.
