It's not wrongly taboo, it's psychopathic. Covid doesn't even present symptomatically in many people, so their antibody response is weaker, meaning immunity doesn't last as long. 60-80% of the population would have to recover, potentially within months of each other.

Can't read article as I don't subscribe, but herd immunity is not 'taboo'. It is openly discussed. It requires a certain % of the population to be immunized to limit spread and reduce risk to those unable to be vaccinated (too young, immunocompromised).
The common cold is a coronavirus. Any illness is a risk to the elderly and infirm. Death is not taboo. It happens to us all.
