Three people are hospitalized, including one person who suffered serious, life-threatening injuries, according to the Massachusetts State Police. Troopers took custody of the suspect, who was taken to South Shore Hospital for an evaluation of injuries.
The suspect will face charges, state police said, but no further detail on those charges were immediately released. A section of Route 3 was completely shutdown late Sunday night for the investigation and crash reconstruction, officials said, but has since been reopened. Scituate and Duxbury police and fire departments responded to the scene along with Massachusetts State Police. No further information was immediately available.
