Shopping centres and supermarkets will soon be equipped with toilets for severely disabled people

Ministers expect an extra 150 Changing Places loos to be installed each year - on top of the current 1,300SHOPPING centres and supermarkets will be equipped with new toilets for severely disabled people, under new plans.Getty - ContributorMinisters expect an extra 150 to be installed around the country each year – on top of the current toll of 1,300.

There are more than 250,000 people who need the facility that comes with hoists, curtains, benches and room for carers. Local Government Minister, Rishi Sunak MP, said: “Everyone should have the freedom to enjoy days out in dignity and comfort. For severely disabled people, this is made very difficult because there are not enough Changing Places toilets.

“We’ve made some progress, but I’m determined to increase the number of these life-enhancing facilities, so people are given the dignity they deserve.

Catherine Woodhead, Chief Executive of Muscular Dystrophy UK, said: “People living with disabilities go to work, visit shops and enjoy days out with friends just like everyone else.“Too often, we hear stories of people not leaving their homes, having to be changed on dirty toilet floors or even having surgery because there are not enough facilities.”

Online abuse of disabled people is getting worse – when will it be taken seriously? | Frances RyanNew research shows the extent of this depressing trend. Social media platforms and MPs have to get a grip of it, says Guardian columnist Frances Ryan look at our president. He's openly mocked disabled people. No wonder its worsened online. He's normalized it. Made up problems created by politics and activists? The people going to care about it when the hell freezes over. It's not any more serious than an accident in the news, so why we should care? And no one bats an eye... If we act like we care it's just a play... Of course it has. Everyone thinks they are Johnny big bollocks online. Hiding behind their screens in their piss stained pants, waiting for Mum to shout them for their tea.
