Kate Middleton beamed with joy as she met British US Open tennis champion Emma Raducanu at a special reception on Friday, before joining the 18-year-old star on the tennis court.
Kate – who is a keen tennis fan and has made regular appearances at Wimbledon since marrying Prince William in 2011 – happily chatted with Emma as they made their way to the court, before all five of the group posed for a photo.Telling the sports stars they are "amazing", Kate exclaimed: "Guys, honestly, congratulations!"
Kate, who was dressed for the occasion in trainers, a tennis skirt and a sports jacket, was visibly delighted to be joining the British champions.Emma and the Duchess also enjoyed a one-to-one chat and the 18-year-old sensation could be seen smiling for ear to ear as Kate congratulated her. Kate's 2021 Wimbledon experience was interrupted this year due to a period of isolation the Duchess had to take in the middle of the tournament.
The young sports star burst onto the scene just two months prior at Wimbledon, and while she was previously ranked 361st in the world, she has now achieved one of the greatest sporting achievements of all-time.
