Sunak orders investigation into leak revealing wife’s non-dom status

Rishi Sunak has ordered a leak inquiry into who revealed details ofAn investigation by the Treasury and Cabinet Office is under way after details of Akshata Murty’s tax details were leaked to the Independent. Her status as non-domiciled has allowed her to legally avoid about £20m of UK taxes on dividends from the Indian IT company founded by her billionaire father on the understanding that her long-term permanent domicile is in India.

Why doesn’t he order an investigation into the furlough loans fraud he wrote off recently. This guy is a crook!

If it’s about morality then most MPs may as well resign!! This is insiders digging dirt on Rishi with Labour and media to bring down a competent established Indian MP. He doesn’t need this job to be rich and successful! You could up worse off with divided Labour!

So Sunak orders a tax payer funded Treasury inquiry. I thought the argument was that she’s a private citizen, a person in her own right with tax details separate to her husband. If so then shouldn’t she call the police? I’m sure the Met know their way around Downing Street

There wouldn't have been a 'leak' if they had not been hiding it. The financial affairs of an elected official and their immediate family are not a private matter. They must be transparent and open to public scrutiny at all times so that we don't need 'leaks' to access them.

Nobble prize should be given to whoever exposed sunak and his wife deliberate tax avoidance! Why he thinks he should be treated as privileged!!? He should tell us how much money they made without paying taxes? Many people can claim non dom too!!
