Suited dealers and spoon-eaters - the Lancs crooks jailed in August

Child abusers, a twisted blackmailer and a woman who tried to conceal the poisonings of two babies were among those jailed in August 2022.

Jeremy Mason, 39, was sentenced to six years at Leeds Crown Court on Friday , after admitting a string of offences. West Yorkshire Police said his offending, and that of his co defendant Owen Daley, of Oxford, was first flagged in December 2021, after a friend of the victim contacted them on the night he was supposed to meet Mason in an Air BnB in Huddersfield.

Shaun Collins, also known as Shaun Greenwood, is already serving a life sentence for three historical rapes. But now, another victim has come forward with evidence about the Burnley rapist meaning he has been given another 12 years. Police raided Kevin Wells' home in Clitheroe at around 4pm on June 5, 2020, and arrested him in the kitchen. Tucked into his sock was a snap bag containing £20 of cocaine.
