It is now just days away until the UK public will go to polling stations to vote for who they see fit to represent them at Westminster.
Putting spotlight on the Strangford constituency, there are 10 candidates battling for votes on July 4. For decades, Strangford’s General Election count has been a fight between the largest two parties in unionism, but that changed in 2017 when Alliance beat the UUP to second place, with Kellie Armstrong nearly doubling her vote share in 2019.
Jim Shannon is seeking a fifth term as Strangford MP, with Councillor Michelle Guy running for Alliance at Westminster for the first time.In analysis by Brown O'Connor, a spokesperson said: "Overall there is likely to be a pronounced drop in unionist voters, a slight dip in others, and a big boost of support for nationalism.
