The Binos face a one-goal deficit in their effort to reach the League One playoff final

Defiant Stirling Albion boss Darren Young urged his players to “put things right” and save their League One skins after slipping to a damaging 2-1 first leg defeat at Dumbarton on Tuesday night.

It was a tight contest where the fairest result was probably a draw, but the travelling support was sent back up the road to lick their wounds after watching Stirling fail to close out a result in the final moments. They will be hoping to marshal the strength of a decent home record to overturn their deficit — the Binos having gained almost two-thirds of their points in the league at Forthbank.

“We got back into the game quickly and had a few wee half-chances, but I think the draw would’ve been a fair result. “The fans will go away disappointed and we go away disappointed, but the positive thing is we have Saturday to rectify it and put things right.”
