Nottingham Forest coach Steven Reid has "apologised" after his outburst against Liverpool earlier this month landed him with a fine and a touchline ban.
Head coach Nuno Espirito Santo admitted it can be difficult to keep emotions in check in such circumstances. And he said the incident was not reflective of Reid's character. Reid was alleged to have used abusive and/or insulting language “towards a match official after the final whistle”. It was also alleged he “acted in an improper manner and/or used abusive and/or insulting language towards a match official after being sent off”. He admitted the first charge but denied the second charge of acting in an improper manner and/or using insulting and/or abusive language after being sent off.
