A team of 12 teenagers from Northern Ireland constructed a life-size replica of the iconic Star Wars droid R2D2 in just five days.
The droid's journey doesn't end there. It will be visiting schools and career fairs to introduce ScreenWorks, a work experience program that connects young people with industry professionals across the film, television, animation, gaming, and visual effects sectors. The budding prop creators also received guidance from Star Wars droid expert Lee Towersey from England, who began as a hobbyist before his skills led him to Lucas Films.
