Sri Lanka’s prime minister resigns after weeks of protests

The country’s known nothing like it since the end of the civil war. Mobs attacking each other on the streets.Today, after weeks of protest, matters came to a head and Sri Lanka’s beleaguered Prime Minister resigned with the country a political tinder box.

Please check facts. Pro-government supporters (testifying they have been paid on video footage) were bussed in to attack protesters and attempted to destroy parts of the main protests site. Crowds across SL turned angry after those attacks. It’s been a month of peaceful protest.
