Abdul Lathief Jameel Mohamed is believed to have studied in the southeast of England at some point between 2006 and 2007

Australia's Prime Minister Scott Morrison said one of the suicide bombers had been in his country on a student and graduate skilled visa with a spouse and child visa as well, before leaving in early 2013. On Thursday, officials locked down the country's central bank in Colombo, Sri Lanka's largest city, before a security alert was lifted.

Meanwhile, the road to Colombo's main airport was also shut temporarily after a suspicious vehicle was identified at a nearby car park.John Keells Holdings, the parent company of the Cinnamon Grand Hotel which was targeted in the Easter Sunday attacks, advised staff to stay indoors until 2pm because of an unspecified security threat and an ongoing search operation.

A suspicious item in a rubbish dump in Pugoda, about 22 miles east of Colombo, was detonated by security officials, who have also banned drones and unmanned aircraft.
