An SNP council is planning to send senior politicians on a lavish New York “junket” after pushing through cuts.
Despite the extreme budget pressures, the council is planning to send a team of four to the Big Apple next month.The cost to the public purse is £1,700 per person for travel and accommodation.As part of the council’s latest Budget, the cost of school meals, parking charges and using Glasgow Life facilities will rise.
He said: “The idea that Glasgow will somehow benefit from sending a five-strong council delegation to Tartan Day is questionable at the best of times, never mind during such a financial crisis.
