Smoking ban tops list of 21st century UK public health achievements

The ban on smoking in public spaces and workplaces is the greatest UK public health achievement of the 21st century, according to public health experts.

We only need to ban alcohol and wipe out Obesity completely. Job's a good one.

I cannot believe people are still smoking in this day and age, it's so antisocial and stinky oh! And can cause cancer! Signed an ex smoker!!!!

Having recently been abroad and having to eat my meal next to smokers, I forgot how amazing it had been in the UK since public smoking ban came into force. Actually I've of those popular no-brainer acts that should have been implemented many decades ago

And the biggest public health failure is re-electing the Tories.

Pity governments world didn't hound enviromental destroyers with the same enthusiasm.

Less freedom to choose is nothing to be proud of.

It's interesting how society changes. Those two young women look like morons for starting a deadly habit many years after it was proven to be very dangerous. Would I stop eating meat or sugar now, even after they have proven to be bad as well? No.

Just a shame you still have to navigate a carcinogenic smog to get in and out of buildings.

It is spelled smocking now.
