The family of MP Sir David Amess have said their hearts are shattered as they called on people to "set aside hatred and work towards togetherness".
Politicians will have at least two hours from 15:30 BST to share their memories of Sir David, after prayers and a minute's silence. The tributes will be followed by a service at St Margaret's Church, next to Parliament.A Conservative MP since 1983 - first in Basildon and, from 1997, in Southend West - he was a champion for the town he represented, particularly in his long-running campaign to make Southend a city.
