'It’s hard for me to imagine anyone deliberately setting out to do something as tough as raising a child alone,' writes Celia Walden

If some of the key terms making up today’s Lexicon of Outrage need defining, let me help you out. “Offended” – as in “I’m offended you mistook me for the gender I am”/ “used an affectionate form of address with me” – translates as: “I feel invisible and this is the easiest way to get attention.” “Triggered” – as in “by telling me upsetting historical or biological facts, my teacher triggered my anxiety issues,” is a variation on that same theme.

Superb article in today’s Telegraph

Well Celia try harder! And perhaps talk to women who do it! Then you might understand more.

Better to raise children alone than with the hoax-printing, phone-hacking fraud Walden calls a husband. Also, odd of her to condemn single motherhood after acquiring said husband while he was married to his first wife, thus helping him to render said wife a single mother.

Much better than aborting a child. Well done all the single mums!

It is tough raising a child but to infer that some women have a right whilst others don’t doesn’t sit comfortably with me. A single mother is not necessarily unemployed, uneducated or reliant on benefits any more than a couple might be & may well do a better job raising a child.

NHS says sepsis monitoring system has saved hundreds of livesTrials of digital alert technology had ‘major impact’ on deadly form of blood poisoning I am keen to see this published academically after robust peer review. Deaths of septic shock in the under-45s from 60% to 10%? This sounds like it is from the 'too good to be true' department and rather consistent with messaging around sepsis from certain quarters. Perhaps PRFitzsimmons might clarify if this is an accurate quote? 'In some cases it would have been impossible to make a diagnosis of sepsis without the help of our digital system'. My trust uses one of these awful electronic systems. In some cases it forces clinicians to prescribe antibiotics for patients they know nothing about or that clearly don't have sepsis just to get rid of the insane pop-up notifications.
