'Many Remainers argue that not only do we need to stay in a special trade relationship with the EU but we also need close alignment on regulation and tax. But why?'

This is entirely appropriate. Trade matters, and the tariff regime and associated trading arrangements have some bearing on trade performance. But nothing like as much as people commonly think. You don’t need trade agreements in order to trade. This is shown by the fact that, despite there currently being no trade agreement between us, our largest single export market is the US.

Singapore is a one party state, a city nation of just 8 million people, and one which regularly abrogates its peoples working and civil rights. Stuff that

But Singapore led by Lee Kwan Yew left the Malay Federation 50 years ago and has since exceeded its surrounding States. Leave means thrive.

Complex supply chains meaning many businesses rely on frictionless trade between the UK and the rest of the EU. to maintain an open border in Ireland. To keep close to the UK's biggest market. For greater collective bargaining power in a competitive world. Who knows really?

Cuz it makes it easy 2 trade, & EU has a far more rational approach 2 regulation than the UK red-tape, think abt kippers all UK doing, dangerous dog act tones of examples.

Much of your “red tape” are protections for workers, consumers, the environment. But hey, let's have a race to the bottom end of the decent society league shall we?

In electronics manufacture, being in EU reduced the no. of separate regulations UK manufacturers had to comply with to sell complex products across 28 countries from +130k separate regs to 19k regs. Saved them a lot of dough. That’s 1 reason, but I guess it’s just projectfear

You mean they don't wanna leave lol

Yes why? 😂
