Sinéad O’Connor’s body has reportedly been released to her family following her death last week.

The Nothing Compares 2 U star died on Wednesday, July 26, at her home inNo cause of death has so far been found for the legendary Irish musician, and it was announced herIt’s now being reported that the autopsy has taken place and O’Connor’s remains have been returned to her family.reported that the London Inner South Coroner’s Court clerk John Thompson confirmed an autopsy has been conducted ‘to secure a medical cause of death.

Results of the autopsy are not expected for several weeks, with the court confirming the decision on an inquest will come following this. A statement on the court’s website in July read: ‘The decision [on] whether an inquest will be needed will be decided when these results are known and submissions have been heard from the family.‘If an inquest is to be opened, the date of the brief public hearing will be provided on our website.’

Officers from the Metropolitan Police found the Grammy-winning singer unresponsive at her home in Herne Hill, where she was pronounced dead.
