Simon Cowell speaks out over BGT chaos as judges break show rule

With countless Golden Buzzers and unexpected shenanigans, Simon Cowell admits that he’s throwing out the rulebook for Britain’s Got Talent’s 17th series. “It’s like being back at school, because the teachers keep coming in saying, ‘You know, can we try and keep the golden buzzers down?’” Simon says.

In the upcoming series, the judges break the record for the number of Golden Buzzers, with nine acts being fast-tracked straight to the semi-finals. “I mean, we don’t want to get to the point where you've got 20 golden buzzer acts, but I think eight or nine is fine,” Simon says. As for the secret to winning the hit ITV show, Simon admits that he’s given up figuring it out. “I genuinely don’t know anymore,” he sighs. “If you had told me after his first audition that was going to win last year, I’d be like, ‘Yeah right.’ But then it happened.

The new series of Britain's Got Talent is set to feature more Golden Buzzers than ever - and judge Bruno Tonioli even manages to break one. “Typical!” he told OK! in an exclusive interview.
